One week digital picture editor training course

The Zero-to-Hero Solution £1500 (+VAT)

A one week intensive post-production training course

Location: The Lovegrove Studio
Places: 1 or 2

Overview:

Here at Lovegrove Consulting we listen to the photographic industry. As a result, we have identified an acute demand for picture enhancing professionals - Markos! The phrase 'we need a Marko' resounds in studios around the country and is echoed in the emails we receive. With more and more digital images being shot by the day, the post production process is the one key factor holding back the majority of social photographers.

With a maximum of two delegates and one week of full time intensive training from Marko, we will train your very own picture editor from 'Zero to Hero' to allow you to be the photographer you have always wanted to be.

Would you like to be a photographer most of the time rather than just part of the time?… It's a powerful thought that is now an option.

Who is this programme designed for?

Those photographers who often find themselves still working at 11pm, or for those who seem to be taking less and less pictures and spend more time in front of a computer. Or perhaps you're a studio experiencing rapid growth. Whatever your situation, we can help. We will train up your very own picture editor and return them to you fully equipped with all the experience and skills they will need to transform your pictures.

Delegate's attributes:

The title 'Zero to Hero' relies on having the right delegate for us to train. Not everyone can be a picture editor.  They will need:

  Good colour vision.
A good foundation in art principles.
An understanding of tone, composition, balance and design.
To be dextrous, good with their hands;  perhaps someone who can paint or draw.
Patience, the right attitude, be willing to learn and above all, they must want to be a picture editor, not a photographer.

We will send you a colour sight test chart for assessment of best skin tone, which you can use when recruiting, to help determine if someone has suitable vision to be a picture editor.

What you will gain:

You will have an inspired and motivated member of staff capable of delivering quality results straight away. You will also have a complete set of 'client ready' edited pictures, your monitor screen will be colour calibrated and the computer will be optimised for working in Photoshop and Lightroom.

What delegates will need to bring:

1. Delgates will need their own computer and monitor, which can be a PC or a Mac, but it must be the one they will be using back at the studio (it's a good idea to have a separate computer that is dedicated to picture editing). Laptops will not be suitable for this workshop.
2. The computer will need Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Lightroom installed.
3. All appropriate software updates will need to have been made in advance, so that all computers will be operating at the same level.
4. A Wacom tablet with an aspect ratio that matches the monitor.
5. An external hard drive, Firewire 2 or high speed USB, 7200 rpm digital speed or better.
6. A set of your own pictures (between 200-300 images) this may be from one wedding or from several portrait shoots.

Course fees:

This one week intensive course costs £1500 (£1762.50 incl. 17.5% VAT) per studio - by studio we mean one trainee editor and one workstation, however, studio owners are welcome to sit in on sessions if they wish.
