What is a Vintage Cherish the Dress™ workshop?

Our 'Vintage Cherish the Dress™ workshop is a wedding fashion shoot designed to make the dress the star, not the victim. A shoot of beauty and elegance, wonderful light and compositional heaven. Once you have spent a day learning about light and creating your portfolio, you will be empowered to embark upon this growing genre of social photography.

"Don't just survive in 2010 Thrive!" Let us show you how to put the wow factor back in your images.

Workshop specification:

3 models (1 "wedding style" couple & 1 solo female)
2 tutors (Chris Hanley & Damien Lovegrove)
1 make up artist
1 assistant
10 delegates (two groups of 5)

What you will learn:

1. Posing ideas and easy-to-use repeatable systems to make your clients go wild with excitement when they see their pictures.

2. You will receive hands-on instruction about finding and controlling ambient light, plus mixing ambient light with off camera TTL flash.

3. You will learn how to interact with a couple and generate a creative flow. You will be taught how to 'see' pictures where you may think none exist. This event is a down to earth creative session on fashion photography that will push you beyond your usual photographic comfort zone.

Who should attend?

This workshop is ideal for all professional wedding and portrait photographers wishing to expand their creative abilities to produce beautiful bridal or fashion photography. This workshop uses some advanced lighting set ups so expect to be challenged.

What you will have at the end of the day to take away:

1. Shooting in and around the location you will be producing portfolio images that you can use right away, on your website, in brochures or on your studio walls. The models we use are professionals and will be patient.

Testimonials:

PETE SAID: A remarkable day!!! That was the best course I have been on to date. Loved the contrast, between yourself and Chris, as well as the banter. Learned loads, you’ve both taken my photography, confidence and expectations to a whole new level. Loved the enthusiasm for your art that you both displayed…. almost as much as that red dress….. stunning

DARREN SAID:
Absolutely stunning work again Damien and Chris. You guys are so inspiring it hurts…:-) Such creative imagery within the confines of the hotel is an area of talent where both you guys excel, yet the shots maintain an artistic quality and simplicity that just grabs the viewers attention and pulls them in. Continue to inspire, teach and share and I’m sure you’ll gain even more followers. I’m off to experiment again, and hopefully, one day, perfect my technique…:-)

MARTIN SAID:
Thanks Damian, Chris. I had a fabulous day on the workshop! Great photography, very friendly people. Fantastic venue. Oh and the chocolate cookies were great too!

KARL SAID: Awesome as usual.

JEAN SAID: Another stunning set of pictures – I don’t know how they keep getting better and better! Well done!

SARAH SAID:
Thank you, Chris, Damien, and everyone else involved in the day, it really was a fantastic, fun filled day, I learnt such a lot, and it was made easy with such good teachers and friendly photographers. I look forward to using my new skills.

MONIKA SAID:
Thanks for an excellent day. I wish it could last longer – the venue and all the tutorials were fantastic. What surprises me is the fact that even though we were taking photos in the same place all of us saw things differently. That I suppose is the photographer’s eye – seeing the same things from a different angle/perspective. Now I need to learn how to postprocess the images so well.

RICHIE SAID:
Very inspiring…Very beautiful…Very Lovegrove!

CAT SAID:
Thanks Chris, I never would have thought that kind of light could be produced from a single downlighter, that was very helpful, thanks for the inspiration!!

ROB SAID: This workshop was an amazing experience and far more valuable than its actual cost (though please don’t increase them:)
Having watched all the excellent Lovegrove dvds I was surprised there was no overlap of information and such a depth of new and valuable technique and information. I expected to pick up some working practices that would speed me up out in the field and a few new techniques, but what I got from this FAR exceeded that. Both you and Chris were so open and helpful both in technique and business advice which again is over and above what anyone could expect. This has had a major impact on both my photography and confidence which was very evident in my two weddings this weekend. My business has been stuck on this rung of the ladder and I now feel able to move my business onto the next level, I can’t even begin to imagine what an effect something like evolve must have? I better start saving! Thanks

MARY SAID:
Beautiful images…… so many new ideas…..

NICK SAID:
Top class photos they’re just wow!!
