What is a Street Fashion Workshop?

This workshop is a city based urban portraits workshop like Urban Portraits but will also utilise portable big flash lighting systems. You do not need to have your own 'big flash' kit as Damien will be using his. This workshop is limited to just 4 delegates; giving each person more individual time and personalised tuition. The next workshop will be starting at Temple Meads, Bristol (TBC) with all new locations.

1 professional model, 1 tutor and just 4 delegates will ensure a fantastic shooting experience for all.

Who is leading this workshop?

This workshop is being led by Damien Lovegrove and he will supply the full Broncolor Mobil kit.

______________

This workshop is ideal for all portrait photographers wishing to expand their creative abilities on location, and who want to be able to shoot funky, fashion-forward images for their clients.

______________

What you will learn:

1. You will learn new technical shooting skills and you will receive hands-on instruction from Damien about finding and controlling ambient light, plus mixing ambient light with big flash. Damien will teach you simple, easy-to-use repeatable systems.

2. You will learn how to interact with the model and generate a creative flow. Damien will teach you how to 'see' pictures where you may think none exist. This event is a down to earth creative session that will push you beyond your usual photographic comfort zone.

What you will have at the end of the day to take away:

1. Whatever the weather we will be producing portfolio images that you can use right away, on your website, in brochures or on your studio walls. The models we use are professionals and will be patient with us.

2. You will have a new repertoire of images you can shoot, and above all, access to professional image making skills that have a high repeatable value. You will have the edge over your competition and you will feel renewed excitement for location shooting.

Here are a few street fashion pictures as a taster. This workshop will fuse the Urban Portraits Speedlight system with the power of a big flash set up. Take a look at the pictures and comments from the first 'Street Fashion' workshop here.

What kit you will need:

1. A Digital SLR camera. The make is not important.

>> When booking your place please state in 'additional information' what camera kit you'll be using (ie Canon/Nikon) <<

2. Two or three professional lenses covering 20mm to 200mm with or without gaps in the coverage. An f/2.8 or better maximum aperture is ideal. The lens is the most important image making bit of kit.

3. A TTL flash gun preferably with a means of using it off camera. For Nikon users without a pop up flash, an SU800 will do the job, and for Canon users an STE2 will be needed. If you don't own one of the items mentioned don't feel the need to rush out and buy one - Damien may well have spares, so ring first.

4. A bag you can dip in and out of to change lenses as required. Travel light, we are shooting on the street and diving in and out of cafes to avoid showers should we need to do so.

5. A monopod with a ball & socket head and a quick release plate will be needed as we will be shooting down to 1/30th second at times.

6. Suitable clothing: We will be outside for extended periods.
