What is a Passion on the Streets Workshop?
This workshop will be different from our highly popular Urban Portraits and Street Fashion
workshops because rather than photographing a pretty model in a urban environment, I'm going
to be photographing the relationship between two people. The
photographs will convey emotions - love, passion, fun and excitement.
I'm going to use light and colour masterfully, to concentrate on
design, body shapes, textures and tones and then trigger emotions and
capture them. A sense of timing will be part of the workshop.

"It's
all about capturing that moment of passion between two people and after
the success of Siena our next destination is Amsterdam."
|
|

Who should attend?
Anyone
who shoots weddings or portraits, who wants to be inspired, and who
would love to combine their passion for photography with a holiday :)
These workshops are not exclusive to professional photographers, but
you will need to be competent at using your camera. This workshop will be delivered in English.

The type of photographs you will be taking
Below is a selection of photographs taken on Damien's 'Passion on the Streets'
workshop in Siena, Tuscany, during the week of Italy workshops, autumn
2009.
What will I learn?
Delegates will have the opportunity to see me create a moment and
capture it. They will learn how to find gorgeous light in places where
previously they thought none existed, They will learn how to pose a
couple in many different ways and learn how to stimulate fun
and laughter. Delegates will shoot everything I shoot and they will have the
opportunity to direct. They'll also be able to shoot the same moments
that I create from different angles, ensuring their pictures are
different to those of other delegates. They'll take away memories,
portfolio images, knowledge and experience.
|
What kit do I need to bring?
1. A DSLR camera with two or three professional lenses covering 17mm to
200mm.
2. One TTL flash gun preferably with a means of using it off camera.
For Nikon users without a pop up flash, an SU800 will do the job, and
for Canon users an STE2 will be needed. If you don't own one of the
items mentioned don't feel the need to rush out and buy one, just let
us know and we will see what we can do.
3. A bag you can dip in and out of to change lenses as required. Travel
light as we are shooting on the street and diving in and out of cafes
to avoid showers should we need to do so.
4. Suitable clothing as you will be outside for extended periods on some days.
|
"Delegates will see the way I create pictures from scratch, they'll see me
think, they will see me construct each picture in a mechanical way
using light, shade and flash."
