We are now selling the Lovegrove-recommended Manfrotto Lite Tite Swivel Adapter. This handy adjustable joint will hold speedlites onto lighting stands with umbrellas. Supplied with 2 brass thread adaptors, 1/4” - 3/8” both male and female. The joint has 16mm (5/8") lighting sockets at both ends. A useful joint to solve your lighting set-up problems.

Right: The adapter shown on the Arri lighting stand. Triggering umbrella flash with infra red has always problematical but now with radio triggering umbrellas are now a useful accessory on location with Speedlites.

With the Canon pop up wide angle diffuser in place the umbrella is literally filled with light right to the brim all round. Be careful in windy conditions as this kind of rig becomes a kite.
