Months of rigorous testing by Damien Lovegrove has resulted in this combination of components. Damien's explains the journey below.

"Below the standard cast metal coldshoe is a tried and tested ball head. I tried cheaper units and concluded that they were not strong enough for the job. Because a flash gun often needs to be rigged in a horizontal way where there are lever forces not usually associated with securing a camera. This ball and socket head is perfect for the job and will last a lifetime."

"Next came the spigot socket unit. I needed a device that would allow horizontal as well as vertical mounting on a lighting stand. This allows the flash to tip down with the lens in a vertical orientation. This custom-made unit with it’s 3/8” thread is ideal."

The result is a light, strong, robust bracket with market-leading flexibility.

Ewan said: By far the best option available for portable flash users as many other solutions either do not fit properly or position the flash gun off centre to an umbrella causing an uneven spread, they are definitely worth the extra cost over rival solutions and are very rugged for daily use. If like me, you own Nikon SB900s, the Lovegrove bracket is probably your ONLY choice as many other options do not fit due to the flashgun's slightly thicker hot shoe design.

Nick said: I have a pair of these and they live on my light stands are offer so much flexibility that wherever I need the flash pointing it goes! The only time one comes off the light stand is if I need the stand for my second Broncolor head. I would be lost without them now!!!
