Broncolor Mobil - The Lovegrove Kits.
The high power portable flash system for creative photographers...
From the moment you open the case you realise just how
special this kit is. It is built to last a lifetime. The Broncolor philosophy is simple, use the best materials, construction methods and design to deliver market leading quality and value.
The Broncolor Mobil unit has a full 1200 Ws power output. Why do we
need all that power? The one drawback with a Speedlight approach to
location lighting is that the light source is small and creates hard
shadows. When zoomed in, Speedlights have no problem coping with any
amount of ambient light for most portrait applications out in daylight.
However, once you introduce a soft box, a Sunbounce reflector or
umbrella, the light output softens, spreads in all directions, and
diminishes in quantity at an alarming rate. On bright days in the
street a Speedlight with a modifier just can’t cope.
 |
This high power portable flash kit provides the solution. It is used by fashion industry photographers throughout the world and typically produces 24 times the light output of a Speedlight. This might sound over the top but when you start to use light modifiers this power advantage gets utilised straight away. Lighting people and clothing with soft but directional light is the norm in the fashion industry and the resulting pictures are in a class of their own. If you want to produce soft light on location this kit is for you.
There is a really neat umbrella attachment built into the body of the Mobilite head. It is a simple, well designed spring clip that accepts all makes of standard umbrellas and securely holds them in place in exactly the right spot.
The battery at the heart of the Mobil system is a user replaceable, universally available lead acid cell. How refreshing! A technology company using off the shelf batteries for a change. You can re-cell your Mobil for under £25 with a NP12-12 Yuasa 12v 12Ah Lead Acid Battery from www.mdsbattery.co.uk It’s often the little things like this that make the big difference with ownership of well designed kit.

and taking care of sealed
lead acid batteries here.
Another reason I love this kit is it has small neat flash heads with thin flexible cables, even when you are out in the cold on location the leads are easy to uncoil and use.
Selectable asymmetric power delivery when you are using more than one flash head is vital. Other makes of kit seem to neglect this detail.
The built in radio trigger system allows triggering of the Mobil kit through walls and over a decent range. No more awkward sync leads to trip up on!
With continuously variable power over a 7 stop range in 1/10th stop increments this kit has it all. Give your pictures the light they deserve. Ring Damien Lovegrove on 01275 853204 for more information or advice.
