Close encounters of the posing kind
This new training workshop will show you how to pose, direct and make the most of available locations. You will be given professional guidance on how to make people look taller, slimmer, more elegant and less 'stiff' looking. The day aims to give you the confidence to interact with your own clients to help them look at their best.
This training day will be taught by professional model and model agency owner Clare Wilson, and Damien and Julie Lovegrove. Clare will be on hand all day to give you guidance and ideas on how to pose and interact with the 'models', and Damien & Julie will make suggestions for locations and lighting and give valuable feedback to the images you shoot.
Fabulous location
Dillington House is hard to beat. Set in parkland, it combines first-rate meeting facilities with beautiful surroundings. Historic architecture sits beautifully alongside the award-winning contemporary Hyde building, to give the best of both worlds.
Smaller groups = better learning experience
We can take a maximum of 12 delegates, and they will be split into groups of 4, each group having their own model. Each will rotate so that by the end of the day you will have photographed all four models in a variety of situations and poses. Each model we use will be new to the business, with none or very little modeling experience so that the emphasis is on you communicating with them in order to get the best possible photographs. Expect to be pushed out of your comfort zone!
How the day will work
Clare, Damien and Julie will rotate between the groups. Julie will be teaching how to use natural light beautifully, and Damien will provide the lighting and tuition in darker areas. They will give guidance on just how many locations there are when you learn to 'see' what's possible. You will be amazed at the opportunities that exist if you know how to deal with them.
Before every shoot Damien creates a mood board to draw inspiration from. Each group will receive various different mood boards throughout the day to be interpreted as you wish. Though the tutors are on hand to give feedback and guide you, you will be encouraged to direct your models... not simply copy what the tutors have said.
How to attend workshop for only £295 +VAT
Please note that after this workshop we will be asking each photographer to provide us with at least 5 high res images of each model from the day (within two weeks of the workshop date) as these will then be passed onto the models.
In return for doing this, we will make a refund to you of £20.00 +VAT.
That makes this workshop a snip at just £295 +VAT for the day's training.

Who should attend?
This workshop is designed to give all social photographers the posing techniques, confidence and skills to take beautiful images that your clients will love, especially those who wish to offer model portfolios as part of their repertoire. Minimal lighting equipment will be used so that you'll be able to easily replicate these shots in your clients own homes. This 'less is more' approach to photography will be a breath of fresh air.
What you will have at the end of the day to take away
1. You will be producing portfolio images that you can use right away, on your website, in brochures or on your studio walls. We will purposely be using inexperienced models in order for you to have a true learning experience, but of course they will all be chosen for their looks:)
2. You will have a new repertoire of poses and will have learned how to build a rapport and bring out the best in your clients. Prepare to come away from this workshop fired up and raring to go with a new found confidence in dealing with 'real' people :)
Summary
• Learn how to pose and direct your model/clients
• Learn what poses work and what don't with certain types of people.
• Capture beautiful portraits using available light, Speedlight, and continuous light.
• Photograph 3 different models in a variety of locations to take your portfolio to the next level.

Cancellation Policy
As our costs for each workshop remain the same no matter how many delegates attend, please note that just like any pre-booked tickets for the theatre, concert, flights etc, we are unable to give any refund in the event of non-attendance, regardless of the circumstances. The exception to this is if we have prior notice and are able to put a cancellation place back online AND your place is resold. In this event we will of course make a full refund or credit to you. We also reserve the right to cancel any workshop if there is insufficient demand, especially if it means that our costs would be higher than our income. Please therefore do not leave it until the last few weeks if you are interested in a particular date, as you may find that it has been removed!
